APOPHENIA explores the human tendency to perceive meaning within disorder. Each triptych traces a recurring movement from fragmentation to coherence, revealing how patterns emerge where none were intended.
In an era shaped by technological acceleration, environmental instability and social fragmentation, certainty becomes fragile. Structures dissolve, information proliferates, and orientation weakens. Faced with uncertainty, the mind seeks connection. It links fragments, recognises shapes, constructs narratives – sometimes to understand, sometimes to endure.
The series visualises this process of pattern formation. Materials accumulate, cluster and condense until a recognisable figure appears. What begins as dispersion becomes structure; what seems accidental gains the appearance of intention. The images oscillate between randomness and meaning, between projection and recognition.
APOPHENIA does not ask whether the perceived pattern is true or false. Instead, it reflects on the psychological necessity of coherence – and on the fragile comfort that arises when chaos briefly takes form.
