How it all started:

After having worked in commercial photography and post production for a couple of years, Seb shifted his focus towards free conceptual projects in 2013. In his series Gold he explored his passion for photomontages by combining images of his models and the separately photographed landscapes. It was during this series that Seb started working with miniature sets when he built the snowscapes for Evergold.

Being in love with the endless creative possibilities this process offered to him, he also incorporated small-scale sceneries (a real bird cage of about 40 cm) in his following series – Birds.

Having a background in CGI and being curious about the fusion of photography and 3D-rendered images, Seb then replaced miniature rooms with computer-generated sceneries in his images Hot Wine and Cool Champagne, realizing that this process offered creative freedom but does not provide enough visual authenticity in the long run.

Even though Seb reduced the amount of post production to a necessary minimum in his following images, these projects heavily influenced the way Seb works today, especially with regards to his series Cubes where he creates all of his sets as miniature rooms.

You can see the process behind Seb’s first conceptual images in his Making-Of-videos.
